Sam Rayburn Water level
« on: April 21, 2011, 03:47:25 AM »

The Level has been low and the Dam is releasing water from what we have been told. Their Website confirms the water is dropping. What we  have heard is they have a contract from the release of water. What does this mean to use, less water for the fish to hide in.  Well that is true but also we will get to see lots of structure that is normally under all year. Just be carefully out there.

Lynn,

Hows it look up there? Did ya'll get alot of rain last night? According to the radar it looks to be an active night again tonight. Hopefully it will rain enough to get alittle water back in the lake and not just soak up in the dry ground! Be careful, supposed to be tornado warning/watches for setx tonight.

You bet it's going to get low with out some rain. The Electric Co. owns the first 12 ft of the Dam.

Very Sad  :(.  Yes even though the fish have a smaller area to hide in, I think fishermen over all are having a tougher time as the lake is normally high and just now starting to fall. Maybe we will have a very wet fall despite the forecast.  Looking on the bright side of things: I have noticed a whole bunch of "new growth" on the shores of Big Sam, so it should be an amazing fishery when the water does come up and it will eventually!!

Its going be great when the water comes back up.  The power company has the first 12 ft of the dam. So that is what we are looking at if we don't get any rain.

Lynn,
How is Harvey Creek Boat ramp holding up?  I know Jackson hill is still holding strong.

It has been fine and should stay that way fow awhile.  Its got some deepwater as long as we don't find the end off the ramp and fall off.
