 “Big Sam” is looking good.
The lake level is holding its own.   The Hydrilla has been making a comeback in the middle lake area.   A few of the pockets have been warming up to high 70s with the sunshine. Covering lots of water this time of year is key in finding and catching lots of fish.   Fronts will push through and cool things down then they will warm up after a few days.  We still seeing a few males up shallow holding to spots along with see some fry moving around.  This gives the angler lots of chances to catch a Trophy. Is the Spawn over that’s a big question this year  as I can say I caught fish with bloody tails on them.  These fish have seen lots of baits from the tournament anglers so you’re going have to do something different and improve your game to catch them.
There will be a lot of fish hanging around the grass lines.  Senko’s and wacky worms will catch a fish off the grass lines and back in the pockets for the guys that want to fish slowly. Now for all of you hard core fishermen, try Stanley Spinner baits and Traps.  Use them to cover a lot of water, working the points and grass lines back into the pockets.  There will be lots of grass in the back of the pockets and fish will hide making it hard to get them out.  Don’t get stuck using one bait or one color.  If you’re not getting bites change something. The points and ledges will be holding some nice fish and the C/R or T/R along with a jig will catch some.  The old Lizard is a hard one for them to turn down. You aren’t looking for a lot of bites, just the big one. You’ve got to fish hard and be patient.  These fish will hold in small groups and when you find them it can be awesome.
Trophy Bass
The chance of catching a Trophy Bass is greatest from now till the end of the spawn as lots of fish are up shallow. The moon has a big part in this and most folks fish the hardest on the full moon. The next chance will be when they lock into their summer pattern.  Don’t wait too long to get your trips booked.
Gift Certificates
Don’t forget we have Gift Certificate for special occasions. They are good for a year so they have plenty of time to schedule a date.

Crappie;
 The Crappie are moving back down river and a few have been making their way in the pockets with some moving out to the brushpiles. We have been catching 75 to 100 crappie on the last few trips. Come on and get your trip booked. The pontoon has plenty of room for everyone with shade and a Pot - O – potty. So don’t wait too long, grab the kids and have a blast.

God Bless
