The water level on Sam Rayburn is at 163.85 and has been dropping.

Summer time Bass fishing on “Big Sam” can be tough on everyone.  One day you've got a pattern and the next day "Poof" they are all gone.  Most of the fish we've been catching have been in the grass or off deep structure.  Pads and grass early and late in the day has been giving up a little topwater action. These fish are in small groups and finding the groups that are active is the key to catching some fish.  Senko’s and wacky worms around the grass and pads has been picking up a few fish.  The Stanley Ribbits have been getting some bites over the thick stuff and the pads.  Buzz bait, Pop-Rs and the Spook Jr. have been doing pretty good in the open areas around the thick stuff.   There've been a lot of fish hanging in the 6 to 12 ft range  Crankbaits and spinner baits have been catching a few of them.  The Carolina rig and football jigs worked around the long points and structure has been getting some fish.  Well that’s summer time fishing.

The crappies have been fair with the bite being very light and hard to feel most of the time.  But we still are hauling in some nice crappie. There is plenty of shade and we have two fans to help you keep cool along with a changing room and port- o- potty, just in case. We love to watch the kids catch fish. The excitement on the boat is just unbelievable as the kids “Reel um N”.

God Bless
